Corner Grove is spacious but still retains a cosy rustic charm with a liberal peppering of original beams and exposed slate walls. To take advantage of the spectacular views, the living room and kitchen areas are upstairs. Downstairs there is a very spacious family bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.

Its positioned just right on a private road to walk into Ambleside. Its a 20 min walk in but a bit longer on the way back as its quite a steep hill. We didn't go into Ambleside much as we had a few walks planned from the cottage. When we arrived there were a few welcoming touches and the biscuits went down a treat :) The kitchen is well fitted with a dishwasher (after all who wants to wash dishes on holiday). The cottage living area is situated upstairs and if you stop you can see why that's a good idea. The views from the living room window whilst you have breakfast are stunning. The bedroom on the ground floor is decorated nicely and the bathroom is lovely. The shower is hot and powerful. We will be returning is Summer when hopefully we are more able to enjoy the outside space during the evenings. Read Less

I absolutely adore the Lake District and we could have not picked a more authentic and beautiful cottage in the most idyllic spot; the lovely Ambleside. On the day of arrival the sun was shining and the sat-nav led is up the most beautiful, stunning lane up a hill with the most breathtaking views. It was so peaceful. The cottage itself was so cute, quaint, authentic, clean and absolutely beautiful. Set back up a country lane but within walking
distance to Ambleaide centre. We walked outside our front door and within 10 metres were sheep and goats - simply lovely. A gorgeous little seating area outside your back soor where we ate breakfast. The cottage was spotless and well equipped including internet access. After a 15 mile walk to Windemere (with ages pub stops) we enjoyed a lovely bubble bath back at the cottage in the gorgeous little bathroom and sat with a glass of wine fixated on the views out of the lounge window. Local restaurants & bars we would highly recommend are
✔️ Dodds Restauranf - food amazing!
✔️ Zeffirelli's
✔️Royal Oak
✔️ Lillys Bar
For a lovely view of the lake stop for a glass of wine and lunch at Langdale Chase - view of the lake is amazing.
We did not want to leave Grove Cottages, amazing unforgettable weekend. Thank you so much, we will be looking to book again in August.

Nice flowers and mince pies when we arrived. Don't forget to bring a torch!
All in all a lovely place to stay

The Corner cottage suited us perfectly and gave us a perfect base for our first visit to the region, not that we travelled far afield as there was so much to do within a few miles or even on a couple of days by walking from the front door.

The cottage was well equipped and it was lovely to have a table outside for tea when the weather permitted. Our daughter especially loved the “upside down” layout and being able to explore the grounds. Read Less

It was warm, comfortable and came with a great deal of helpful information about walking, dining and other activities in the local area. Very quiet at night since not only is the last part of the tarmac track a private road, it also terminates at the cottages from a car user perspective; as a walker's path it continues through to join a road near the Kirkstone Pass.
